BATCH NO. 8 now sells direct to consumers, using a unique made-in-the-USA on demand manufacturing platform

NEW YORK, NY — Nineteenth Amendment, the online marketplace for fresh, independent fashion, announces that the latest collection from Dallas, Texas based designer, Sarah Speck, is now available online.  Manhattan based Nineteenth Amendment launched a partnership with US retailer Macy’s September 1, 2015 and through this collaboration the BATCH NO. 8 line will now be accessible to over 6 million shoppers every month.  This unique collaboration was born through Nineteenth Amendment’s commitment to give talented designers around the world a global platform to launch collections in an efficient and scalable way.

Inspired by Dallas’ bold aesthetic, warm and welcoming attitude, and thriving fashion culture, Sarah Speck designs clothing made from luxurious fabrics and are characterized by modern-feminine silhouettes, polished style, and tailored fit.  Sarah is a graduate of Washington University of St. Louis’ fashion design program and interned for Halston before working in the footwear industry and then starting her own collection, BATCH NO. 8 in 2014.  The inspiration for the brand’s name, BATCH NO. 8 came from Speck’s appreciation of artisan small batch manufacturing in the spirits industry and as for the number 8, it’s a lucky one, and also happens to be the number of styles in the debut collection.

“I am thrilled to be able to offer this collection through Nineteenth Amendment,” noted Sarah. “As an independent fashion designer, it is almost impossible to reach a broad audience or have my garments made economically.  Nineteenth Amendment is both a retail partner and a manufacturing platform that captures the spirit of my collection, lets me sell directly to customers globally, and ensures exceptional quality though small-batch manufacturing by master craftspeople, 100% in the U.S.”

Created as an alternative to traditional industry business models, Nineteenth Amendment provides not just retail distribution and manufacturing, but also guidance on merchandising and look books, PR and marketing support, and access to a network of peers and retailers through the Nineteenth Amendment community.

“We are committed to creating a better place for fashion,” said Nineteenth Amendment CEO Amanda Curtis. “To fulfill that promise, we offer both technology tools and industry expertise to help independent designers succeed. We’re thrilled to welcome Sarah to our designer collective and look forward to helping her make the most of their Nineteenth Amendment experience in the months to come.”
